vegan spareribs

Ingredients

  • Soy Big Steaks (TVP)
  • Steak flavoring
  • 2 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp tomato purree
  • 2 tbsp broth
  • 1 tbsp Marmite or similar
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce dark
  • 1 tbsp Liquid smoke
  • BBQ sauce
  • Sriracha sauce as wanted

Instructions

  • cook the BigSteaks in saltwater
  • pour into a sieve, let cool a bit, and press between two small boards to remove excess liquid
  • cook again with enough water, this time add tomato purree, broth, marmite, soy sauce and liquid smoke
  • pour again and press again between boards
  • on both long sides, make cuts upt to the middle, first one side, on the other place the cuts between the previous cuts (video explains better)
  • roast in a pan with oil until satisfying color is reached
  • put into a large oven pan, from both sides aplly a good amount of Sriracha (if wanted) and BBQ sauce
  • put into th eoven for approx. 10min at 250°C

Notes

I noticed it seems quite difficult to get a hold of the Soy Big Steaks outside Europe. I only could find them in germany and one UK online store, so good luck with this ;)
